- A theoretical approach [M.R-Monteiro et al., Phys. Rev. Lett. '''76''', 1098 (1996)] within a quantum-group formalism <math>(q_{QG} \neq 1)\,\!</math> has recently been proposed and successfully compared to Greywall's high precision measurements of the liquid <math>^{4}</math>He specific heat.We calculate here the specific heat for <math>^{4}</math>He using Tsallis non-extensive thermostatistics <math>(q_T\neq 1)\,\!</math>. A comparative analysis reveals that more sophisticated theories, possibly including many-body interactions, would be necessary for discriminating between alternative formalisms.
