<dd>We consider some observed decays of the ?c which should be forbidden in the perturbative &lt;math&gt;QCD\,\!&lt;/math&gt; description of exclusive reactions: &lt;math&gt; \eta_c \rightarrow \rho \rho, K^{*} \bar{K}^{*}, \phi \phi &lt;/math&gt;. It is shown explicitely that quark mass corrections do not help and still give a zero result. Also the experimental value for the decay rate &lt;math&gt;\Gamma (\eta_c \rightarrow p \bar{p})&lt;/math&gt; is argued to be anomalously large. Implications for the perturbative &lt;math&gt;QCD\,\!&lt;/math&gt; scheme are discussed and some other possible explanations of the data are suggested.</dd>
