Descrição: The fluorescence lifetime of <math>Cr^{3+}\,\!</math> in <math>GdAl0_3\,\!</math> was measured in the range <math>1.8 - 4.2 K\,\!</math> in magnetic fields up to <math>6 T\,\!</math>. The results show a remarkable dependence of the transition probabilities on magnetic order. A model based on the exchange interaction between <math>Cr^{3+}\,\!</math> in highly excited states and the <math>Gd^{3+}\,\!</math> ions is proposed.
