- We show in general that the Dirac-Clifford ring formed by the Dirac matrices and all their products, for all even and odd spacetime dimensions <math>D\,\!</math>, span the commutation algebras <math>su(2^{D/2})\,\!</math> for even <math>D\,\!</math> and <math>su (2^{(D-1)/2})\,\!</math> <math>\oplus\,\!</math> <math>su (2^{(D-1)/2})\,\!</math> for odd <math>D\,\!</math>. We discuss some physical consequences of these results.
