<dd>We introduce a new prescription to deal with boundary terms in the Hamiltonian formulation of General Relativity. Under this prescription the equations of motion are correctly obtained, and the Möller energy integral for asymptotically stationary gravitational fields arises as the natural definition of energy. This definition agrees with the gravitational mass obtained from the geodesic motion of a test particle, in the case of asymptotically flat and asymptotically Anti-DeSitter spacetimes</dd>
