Descrição: Magnetization studies on <math>GdNi_{2}B_{2}C\,\!</math>, over a wide temperature and field ranges, reveal two magnetic phase transitions at <math>19.5(5) K\,\!</math> and at <math>7.2(3)K\,\!</math>. At <math>T = 1.7K\,\!</math>, the full Gd-moment saturation is attained only for <math>H \ge H_{c} = 133(3) kOe</math>. The overall magnetic features are similar to the magnetic properties of the <math>RNi_{2}B_{2}C\,\!</math> <math>(R = Tm, Er, Ho, Dy, Tb)\,\!</math> isomorphs and can be interpreted in terms of the picture that assumes the weakly-anisotropic Gd-moments to be RKKY-coupled ferromagnetically in plane and antiferromagnetically out-of-plane.
