- In this letter we propose a covariant wave equation in the Polyakov's Quantum Geometry of Bosonic Strings. Its main feature are the explicit appearence of a metric dependent term (vanishing at D=26) due to the conformal anomaly and its reduction to the Nambu String Wave Equation for D=26, where D is the space-time dimension.
