- We study numerically the prototype of the gap road to chaos, namely <math>x_{t+1} =1 -\varepsilon_i -a|x_t|^{z_i}</math> <math>(i = 1, 2\,\!</math> respectively correspond to <math>x\geq 0</math> and <math>x<0;\ \varepsilon_1 \neq \varepsilon_2\,\!)</math>. Intriguing properties are observed concerning the <math>(a,\varepsilon_1,\varepsilon_2)-\,\!</math>evolution of the attractors and the Liapunov and uncertainty exponents; also, multifractality is exhibited at the first entrance to chaos.
