- A review of the evolution of weak interaction physics from its beginning (Fermi-Majorana-Perrin) to the electroweak model (Clashow-Weinberg-Salam). Contributions from Brazilian physicists are specially mentioned as well as the first prediction of electroweak-unification, of the neutral intermediate vector boson <math>Z_0\,\!</math> and the first approximate value of the mass of the W-bosons.
