Descripción: We have observed 99 decays of the charmed strange meson, the <math>D^+_s</math> (formerly called the <math>\operatorname{F^+}</math>), into the <math>\operatorname{\phi \pi^+}</math> (61) and <math>\vec{K}^{\ast 0}K^+</math> (38) final states in the Fermilab photoproduction experiment E-691. We determine the lifetime to be <math>(\cdot 48^{+\cdot 06}_{-\cdot 0.5}\pm \cdot 02)\times 10^{-12}s</math>. Using our reported measurement of the <math>\operatorname{D^0}</math> lifetime, we calculate the ratio <math>\tau (D^+_s)/\tau (D^0)= (1.10\pm .15\pm .04).</math>
