<dd>This letter studies the &lt;math&gt;Sp(2)\,\!&lt;/math&gt; covariant quantisation of gauge theories. The geometrical interpretation of gauge theories in terms of quasi principal fibre bundles &lt;math&gt;Q(M_{s},G_{s})\,\!&lt;/math&gt; is reviewed. It is then described the &lt;math&gt;Sp(2)\,\!&lt;/math&gt; algebra of ordinary Yang-Mills theory. A consistent formulation of covariant lagrqangian quantisation for general gauge theories based on &lt;math&gt;Sp(2)\,\! &lt;/math&gt; BRST symmetry is established. The original &lt;math&gt;N = 1\,\!&lt;/math&gt; , ten dimensional superparticle is considered as an example of infinitely reducible gauge algebras, and given explicitly its &lt;math&gt;Sp(2)\,\!&lt;/math&gt; BRST invariant action.</dd>
