Off-Diagonal Helicity Density Matrix Elements for Vector Mesons Produced at LEP

- Final state <math> q \bar{q} \,\!</math> interactions may give origin to non zero values of the off-diagonal element <math>\rho_{1,-1}\,\!</math> of the helicity density matrix of vector mesons produced in <math>e^+ e^-\,\!</math> annihilations, as confirmed by recent OPAL data on <math>\phi\,\!</math> and <math>D^{*'}s\,\!</math>. Predictions are given for <math>\rho_{1,-1}\,\!</math> of several mesons produced at large ''z'' and small <math>p_T \,\!</math>, <math>i.e.\,\!</math> collinear with the parent jet; the values obtained for <math>\phi\,\!</math> and <math>D^*\,\!</math> are in agreement with data
