## **Abstract**

Estudamos a implementação, via computação algébrica, do cálculo da fase da matriz S na Eletrodinâmica Quântica, supondo A\_μ externo. Como base para os nossos cálculos tomamos o princípio da causalidade e, escolhendo este caminho, evitamos o aparecimento de termos divergentes no processo. Usamos este procedimento para a construção de um algoritmo computacional que calcula a fase causal em quarta ordem em teoria de perturbações, aplicando o resultado na determinação da corrente de polarização do vácuo. Iniciamos, assim, uma investigação acerca da viabilidade de se produzir um mecanismo computacional, capaz de abordar problemas em Eletrodinâmica Quântica, em qualquer ordem perturbativa dada.
