- Description
- The global dynamical aspects of a supernova event is studied in terms of an effective Lagrangean formulation. The equation of motion derived from this Lagrangian is solved numerically for diferent supernova core masses. An equation of state for cold matter is introduce by means of an adiabatic index parametrization which is a smooth function of the matter density. The energy transfer from the inner to the outer core is estimated in the context of the hydrodynamic bounce mechanism. It is found that only a very restricted mass distribution to pre-supernova core configuration generate a strong enough shock wave leading to a prompt bounce ejection.
