- In these lectures we would like to introduce some basic ideas on the quantization of general relativity with emphasis on the application of the resulting theory to cosmology, which originates an area called quantum cosmology. Quantum cosmology has been developed over the years, by many physicists, and some interesting results have been derived. In order to show some of these results and also to solidify the basic ideas introduced, in the first part of these lectures, we shall examine a simple quantum cosmology model.
