Description
Final state <math> q\bar{q}\,\!</math> interactions give origin to non zero values of the off-diagonal element <math>\rho_{1,-1}\,\!</math> of the helicity density matrix of vector mesons produced in <math>e^+ e^-\,\!</math> annihilations, as confirmed by recent OPAL data on <math>\phi\,\!</math>, <math>D^*\,\!</math> and <math>K^{*'}s\,\!</math>. New predictions are given for <math>\rho_{1,-1}\,\!</math> of several mesons produced at large <math> x_{_E}\,\!</math> and small <math> p_T - i.e.\,\!</math> collinear with the parent jetin the annihilation of polarized <math> e^+\,\!</math> and <math> e^-\,\!</math>; the results depend strongly on the elementary dynamics and allow further non trivial tests of the Standard Model.
